1. Acceptance of These Terms

By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use this website.

These terms apply to your use of the website, including browsing our pages, submitting a quote request, contacting us, viewing our work, or using any website features.

2. About Odyssey Custom Contracting Ltd.

Odyssey Custom Contracting Ltd. provides renovation, remodeling, design, additions, project management, kitchen and bathroom renovation, and related contracting services in Ontario.

The information on this website is provided for general information only. It does not create a contractor-client relationship unless we enter into a separate written agreement with you.

3. Website Information

We aim to keep the information on this website accurate and current. However, we do not guarantee that all website content is complete, error-free, or available at all times.

Photos, project examples, service descriptions, testimonials, and other website content are provided to help you understand our work. They do not guarantee that your project will have the same timeline, cost, design, material availability, or result.

4. Quotes and Estimates

You may contact us through the website, by phone, or by email to request a quote.

Any quote, estimate, price range, or project discussion provided through the website, phone, email, or in person is not binding unless confirmed in a written agreement signed or accepted by both parties.

Project pricing may depend on many factors, including:

  • Site conditions
  • Scope of work
  • Material choices
  • Labour requirements
  • Permit requirements
  • Structural, plumbing, electrical, or design issues
  • Product availability
  • Change requests
  • Unforeseen conditions found after work begins

We reserve the right to revise or withdraw any quote before a written agreement is accepted.

5. Written Project Agreements

Any renovation, construction, design, remodeling, addition, or project management work will be governed by a separate written agreement, quote, invoice, work order, or contract.

If there is a conflict between these website Terms and Conditions and a signed project agreement, the signed project agreement will control for that specific project.

6. Deposits, Payments, and Invoices

Payment terms will be set out in your written quote, invoice, or project agreement.

We may require deposits, progress payments, milestone payments, or final payment before, during, or after the work. Late payments may delay the project.

We may offer payment through third-party providers, including Square. If you choose to pay through Square or another payment provider, your payment may also be subject to that provider’s terms, privacy policy, and processing rules. Square states that its Canadian terms govern use of its services in Canada.

7. Cancellations and Consumer Rights

Your cancellation rights may depend on the type of contract, where it was signed, the value of the work, and Ontario consumer protection laws.

For certain home renovation or repair contracts signed in a customer’s home and worth $50 or more, Ontario states that customers may have a 10-calendar-day cooling-off period. If work starts during that period, the customer may still be responsible for reasonable payment for work and materials already provided.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any legal rights you may have under Ontario or Canadian law.

8. Permits, Approvals, and Legal Requirements

Some projects may require permits, inspections, drawings, engineering review, utility approvals, condo approvals, landlord approvals, or other permissions.

Unless a written project agreement says otherwise, you are responsible for securing any required approvals for your property. If we agree in writing to help with permits or approvals, you agree to provide accurate information and timely cooperation.

Project timelines may change if permits, inspections, approvals, or third-party responses are delayed.

9. Client Responsibilities

To help us complete your project properly, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate project information
  • Give safe and reasonable access to the property
  • Make required decisions on time
  • Confirm material selections when requested
  • Remove personal items from work areas where needed
  • Keep pets, children, and unauthorized people away from active work areas
  • Inform us of known hazards, defects, restrictions, or property issues
  • Make payments according to the agreed schedule

Delays caused by missing information, late decisions, restricted access, unsafe conditions, or unpaid invoices may affect timelines and costs.

10. Project Timelines

We will make reasonable efforts to meet agreed timelines. However, project schedules may change due to factors beyond our control, including:

  • Weather
  • Permit or inspection delays
  • Material delays
  • Supplier shortages
  • Change orders
  • Hidden damage
  • Structural issues
  • Illness, emergencies, or labour availability
  • Client delays
  • Utility or third-party delays

Unless stated in a signed project agreement, timelines are estimates only.

11. Change Orders

Any change to the agreed scope of work may require a written change order, revised quote, or written approval.

Changes may affect project cost, schedule, materials, and completion date. We may decline requested changes if they are unsafe, impractical, unlawful, outside our scope, or not agreed in writing.

12. Materials and Product Availability

Material samples, images, colours, finishes, and product descriptions may vary from actual products.

Products may become unavailable, delayed, discontinued, or subject to price changes. If this happens, we may recommend a substitute product. Any cost difference may be added to the project price if approved.

13. Site Conditions and Hidden Issues

Renovation and construction work may reveal hidden issues, such as water damage, mould, rot, unsafe wiring, plumbing defects, structural problems, pest damage, asbestos, or code issues.

If hidden or unforeseen conditions are found, extra work, time, or cost may be required. We will notify you and discuss next steps before proceeding where practical.

14. Safety

Active renovation and construction sites can be dangerous.

You agree not to enter restricted work areas, touch tools or materials, move safety barriers, or interfere with work in progress. You are responsible for keeping children, pets, visitors, and other unauthorized people away from active work areas.

We may pause work if we believe the site is unsafe.

15. Photos, Portfolio, and Project Content

We may take photos or videos of our work before, during, or after a project for records, quality control, marketing, website content, social media, or portfolio use.

We will aim not to disclose private personal information without permission. If you do not want project photos used for marketing, please tell us in writing before the project starts.

16. Testimonials and Reviews

Testimonials and reviews shown on this website reflect individual customer experiences. They do not guarantee the same result for every customer or project.

We may display customer feedback submitted through public review platforms, email, website forms, or social media, where permitted.
